NEW! Springtime. This new silk ribbon design has been embroidered with the beginner in mind as well as for those who want to experiment with ribbon stitch. There are only two silk ribbon stitches used – ribbon stitch (inverted stab stitch), with a number of its variations, and a French knot. In this way students new to ribbon embroidery and those who have some experience can get to master the basic stitches. French knots, using embroidery stranded cottons, have been repeated for the forget-me-nots, together with detached chain (lazy daisy stitch) for their leaves. The design measures 8×3 1/4 inches or 20 x 8 cm. The kit consists of the design screened onto linen/cotton blend fabric, muslin for backing, a full set of instructions and a detailed colour photograph. The finished item may be made be framed or made up into a cushion. All of my pattern and print kits are beautifully packaged in cellophane bags, making them very suitable as gifts.
