NEW! Springtime. This new silk ribbon design has been embroidered with the beginner in mind as well as for those who want to experiment with ribbon stitch. There are only two silk ribbon stitches used – ribbon stitch (inverted stab stitch), with a number of its variations, and a French knot. In this way students new to ribbon embroidery and those who have some experience can get to master the basic stitches. French knots, using embroidery stranded cottons, have been repeated for the forget-me-nots, together with detached chain (lazy daisy stitch) for their leaves. This is an optional extra.. included in the kit. The design measures 8×3 1/4 inches or 20 x 8 cm. The kit consists of the design screened onto linen/cotton blend fabric, muslin for backing, all silk ribbon materials, stranded cottons, needles, with a full set of instructions and a detailed colour photograph. The finished item may be framed or made up into a cushion. All of my designer kits are beautifully packaged and presented in sturdy carrier bags, making them very suitable as gifts.
